Over the bridge to the market.

Hoooray, the Farmers Market is back at the Humber Bridge. It closed because there was a nasty bug going around and we all had to stop at home. Well now it's back so I thought I would go and have a look. I imagined it might be busy so I left my car on the south bank and walked over the Bridge. The Old Tile Works down there is a garden centre and a restaurant. It was gloriously sunny with a cold wind, so I was well wrapped up.
Almost there, coming up to the toll booths. They are taking these down so I don't know what the arrangement will be for drivers to pay for the crossing. So, just in case anyone does not understand the blue sign, they place a yellow one below it. 😊😕
The North Bank car park is massive which is just as well because the market was heaving. There were so many people there all pushing and shoving to get through. Lots of buggies, push chairs, and mobility scooters, and hundreds of dogs. It's a great area for dog walks but it must have been hell for them to be dragged through the crowds. I tried my best to see some of the stalls, but had to give up. It was a chuffing nightmare.

Apidae.co.uk is the local company that supplies honey to the farm shop I visit.
Three more stalls but it was hopeless trying to take photographs, so I gave up. I couldn't carry anything heavy anyway.

This lady makes some lovely bags.
I decided to take a walk down to Hessle Foreshore. The lifeboats were out on display for anyone who wanted to have a closer look.
I was ready to get back up onto the bridge for the walk back when I heard a lot of air horns blasting loudly. I just caught the tail end of a tractor rally. Everybody was cheering and waving.

I stopped to chat to this lady. Nice to speak to someone who is passionate about farming. She is definitely wide awake.
I called in at the Garden Centre before coming home, and bought a plant to put in a bare patch in a raised bed.
A smashing day out, apart from the crowds. I made the best of it by chatting to some nice people. One old boy, must have been about 80, he had long grey hair tied into a plait, reaching down his back to his waist. I like to see people who are on their own path in life, and don't conform with the norm.
I am a bit achy tonight with all that walking. I ain't no spring chicken any more.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona
