A look at Blackpool

It's a wet Sunday outside so I am not going anywhere today. Even the cats don't want to go out. Here are a few more pictures of Blackpool. After we had seen all the trams,  Carol and I had a walk along the Promenade, and into town. We thought about having a game of Bingo, but decided not to. It wasn't a serious idea, more of a joke. I thought about going into a gift shop to buy some cheap and tacky souvenirs, but couldn't bring myself to do it.
The view from halfway along Central Pier. I waited for a seagull to appear. This one is called Jonathan Livingston Seagull. It is following me around. 😎😍😄

The book tells the story of Jonathan Livingston Seagull, a seagull who is bored with daily squabbles over food. Seized by a passion for flight, he pushes himself and learns everything he can about flying. His increasing unwillingness to conform finally results in his expulsion from the flock. Now an outcast, he continues to learn, becoming increasingly pleased with his abilities while leading a peaceful and happy life.

Elvis has been in Carol's life since we were teenagers. She bought all his records, has been to Gracelands, and has seen numerous Elvis lookalike shows.
The iconic Winter Gardens where just about every entertainer has performed over the years.

The old Post Office at Abingdon Street. Currently closed but there are plans to turn it into a hotel. The eight phone boxes will be preserved.
This used to be The Odeon. At a cost of two million it was converted to Funny Girls. It's a 1939 Grade 2 listed building. The new Show Bar was opened in 2002 by Joan Collins. I have been here, the shows are top class entertainment.
North and Central Piers. I couldn't get a pic of South Pier, it is undergoing refurbishment and covered in scaffolding.

The Water Park is on South Promenade, not far from the Pleasure Beach.
The main building of Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
I said goodbye to Carol and went back to my car. Just made it before it started raining. It was a fantastic day. Really glad I went. It brought back a lot of memories.

Thanks for popping in. We'll catch up soon. Toodle pip.
