I am a bit perturbed by what I see and hear. The word CHRISTMAS is being replaced by the word HOLIDAY. What! Three times this has happened recently. Yesterday the new video from Coca Cola, (that goddam awful drink that people so enjoy swilling down their throats), where the big red truck with it's all singing and dancing livery is touring Great Britain, it's about to hit the road. Nowhere on the video is the word CHRISTMAS. It's been changed, it is now Happy HOLIDAY

I saw an article which tells you and me the reader what ten things you must not do at the HOLIDAY office party. No, it's not HOLIDAY time, that comes in the summer. In December it's the CHRISTMAS office party.

An advert I spotted from an online shop was gushing about their fabulous HOLIDAY bargain gifts. Hang on a minute, doesn't everyone go shopping at this time of the year for CHRISTMAS presents! What is going on.

At school I was taught about Jesus Christ being born on CHRISTMAS day. We did the nativity thing, we sang carols, we learnt the Lords Prayer, we celebrated the birth of Christ. As far as I know December the 25th will be forever the day Jesus Christ was born. Some people might say it didn't happen, but it has been part of our tradition for thousands of years, and should not be dumbed down in this way. The word CHRISTMAS is being trashed by those who want to obliterate it from our vocabulary.

I don't do Christmas as you know, because mostly it has been turned into a spending frenzy which has nothing to do with Jesus Christ, but I respect the wishes of Christians who go to church, at this time, or any time of the year. I respect the traditions of carol singing, nativity plays, and the remembering of why Jesus lived and died for us.
